Multifunctional Monomers

Characteristics

• Polyethylene Glycol Diacrylate (PEGDA, EO≈23)
• Difunctional acrylate monomer with long ethylene oxide chain
• High hydrophilicity and excellent water compatibility
• Provides outstanding flexibility and softness to cured films
• Very low glass transition temperature (Tg = -50°C)
• Reduces brittleness and internal curing stress
• Enhances elongation and impact resistance
• Improves adhesion to polar substrates including plastics and glass
• Excellent compatibility with urethane acrylates, epoxy acrylates, and polyester acrylates
• Suitable for hydrogel, biomedical, and water-compatible UV-curable systems
• Low shrinkage during UV curing
• Good wetting and flow characteristics
• Long EO chain lowers crosslink density and increases toughness
• Solid at room temperature (mp 37–39°C), typically warmed before use
• Useful for flexible coatings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, soft 3D printing resins, and functional UV-curable materials
• Higher flexibility, hydrophilicity, and toughness than lower EO grades such as PEGDA-400 or PEGDA-700
• Can improve moisture permeability and water absorption of cured networks
